About LéLa

LéLa isn’t just four pretty letters that happen to look good together. When my sister and I started brainstorming names for our brand, we tried it all—blending our names, playing with initials, mixing random letters. But none of it felt like us.

We knew we wanted something that carried meaning—something that felt personal, even if we were the only ones who knew the story behind it. So we started exploring words in Creole, the language spoken on the island of La Réunion, where part of our roots lie.

That’s when we came across “lé la”—a Creole phrase used to answer “Comment i lé?” which means “How are you?”

Lé la means I’m here. I’m good.

And then, just a few days later, God kind of sealed it for us. Our uncle sent a message in the family group chat: “Comment i lé?” And without missing a beat, our mom’s cousin replied: Lé la.

That was it. That was the moment we knew—we had found the name.

A quiet affirmation. A sense of presence. A shared feeling between sisters, family, and something we’re now building together.
